A museum near your home is looking for people to do part-time/unpaid work. You would like to do some voluntary work at the museum. Write a letter to the museum director to apply for the unpaid work. In letter

  • Why do you want to do voluntary work at the museum?
  • Describe some skills and qualities you have that would be useful.
  • Give details of when you would be available for work.

Dear Sir/Madam,

Yesterday, I got information that you need volunteers to work in your museum. I am writing to join this unpaid work.

I am curious to learn history. In leisure, I often read history books. It gives me immense knowledge of historical events and related things. Working for you would allow me to enhance my history knowledge. As the museum is in my vicinity, it is easy to commute. Besides learning, this volunteer work is a great way to serve the community.

As an assistant manager in a hotel, I learned communication skills. I will use the same skills to make visitors more comfortable and make their visit enjoyable. I know how to guide them throughout the tour and show them the best collection. It will try to put a positive impression on museum visitors.

I can work for the museum on weekends because I am doing a full-time job. It would be an honour to serve for such a historical museum. I hope you find me a suitable person and give me a chance for voluntary work.

I am looking forward to working with you.

Yours faithfully,
Anita
